The course teaches first responders and tactical personnel to cope with the psychological stressors that are inherent to their job. Stress inoculation techniques and Psychological First Aid (PFA) tools will be taught and practiced in class so that participants will be able to utilize the knowledge for themselves and for the benefit of the organization they represent.

This proactive approach to dealing with critical incidents that can result in trauma has been useful in mitigating psychological and physiological harm while increasing performance of first responders and tactical personnel during the incident and in coping with its emotional aftermath.
