The most useful, effective, deterring and inexpensive weapon against criminals and terrorists is the ability to ask a good question.

For years, security has been investing billions of dollars into hardware, weapons, technology and man power. Armed security officers are required to undergo training for handling a gun and in shooting. Many of those officers go through numerous weeks of training to hone their tactical skills. But how many officers are trained to effectively use the one weapon readily available and that affords the most powerful impact in terms of protection? … a good question.

The Advanced Course in Security Questioning enables security and law enforcement professionals to hone their threat assessment and questioning skills when dealing with a suspicious situation or person.

Day 2

08:30/08:40
Recap

Using Security Questioning in Dealing with Potential Mules & Dry Runs – Security Questioning applied to potential mules is specifically challenging. Trainees need to understand the fine line between someone with malicious intent and someone who is duped or coerced into becoming a mule. Likewise, questioning someone who is suspected of conducting a dry run poses a challenge since the means and actions cannot fully indicate malicious intent. Trainees will learn and simulate the use of security questioning in dealing with mules or dry runs.
11:00/12:00
Using Security Questioning in Human Resource Screening and Internal Investigations – Security Questioning can be applied as an investigative tool to solve an internal security incident in an organization such as information leaks, potential fraud, etc. Security Questioning can and should be applied to the process by which Human Resources interviews and screens people into the organization. This module will demonstrate the applicability of security questioning to HR screening and internal investigations.
12:00/13:00
Lunch
13:00/13:45
Security Questioning in Access Control & against Social Engineering - Security questioning is most commonly used in access control. However with a formidable adversary who uses social engineering techniques, officers can find themselves at a disadvantage. This module will cover social engineering techniques and the way security questioning can be utilized effectively against them.
13:45/14:30
Undercover Questioning - Security questioning can be done under cover where the true intent and nature behind engaging a suspect is not overt but rather covert. This technique is specifically effective in open environments where people are not expecting or even welcoming interaction with security or police forces. This module will cover guidelines for effective undercover questioning.

References

This seminar was delivered to hundreds of law enforcement, security, military, corporate and non-profit organizations worldwide. Over the years, our trainers have received high praise from students, with average post-course survey scores never below 95%. The only consistent complaint we hear is that our students wished the training were longer because they want more.

Here are some comments by our seminar participants:

"Great training, have improved my knowledge of terrorism immensely. I learned practical skills to deal with potentially hostile situations."
"Overall excellent course I would like to see organizations senior leadership take this course."
"I enjoyed this seminar very much and found it to be very informative and helpful to my job. The content was presented very well and was augmented with personal experiences of the Instructor that brought about clear understanding of the concepts being presented! It was great and I look forward to future training opportunities!"
"Outstanding all the way around!! Thanks!"
"Superbly experienced and qualified instructor who, none the less, comes across humbly...I appreciate hearing an expert who does not brag about being an expert. Fundamentally and to the point models I can take to my team in security operations. I consider the manual a sensitive mother lode of information that will make me a more complete security event organizer."
"Best possible job in 2 days. I would like to attend a longer course on similar material."
"Love it. One of the best classes I've ever been in. Far exceeded my expectations."
Second course I attended given by Amotz Brandes of Chameleon Associates, as the first class another outstanding course. In my opinion, this course should be offered to all supervisors at TSA, as I found this to be an invaluable tool to assist us in bettering our questioning skills.
